More Art for the Baby's Room: Adrian Tomine

When I was pregnant with Kai, I treated myself to a New Yorker subscription. During this time, the work of Adrian Tomine started to grow on me since he illustrated multiple covers and images recently. I fell in love with the image below from an October issue:

Now I'm a big fan and we plan to make room in Kai's room for the Gold Boy, Emerald Girl illustration. I think it will accompany the David Weidman piece well. Hopefully Kai will love it too. Are there other fans out there too?

ly: i've been loving reading your blog! thank you for sharing your thoughts and musings... i'm a new stay-at-home-mom now in new zealand with my new daughter (she's 11 weeks) and amazed thoroughly now that you guys traveled to vancouver when kai was so little! i was still battling recurring mastitis and suspected uterine infection at that point in the recovery - the wisdom of house/bed rest for a month definitely very wise (we also had to move to a new house when she was 3 weeks old!). anyway, i can't help but comment on my favorite topic: cupcakes! have you ever seen 'vegan cupcakes take over the world'? it's a great cupcake cookbook with tips on why things 'fail' when making cupcakes as well as fantastic recipes - and i noticed you're avoiding dairy while you nurse, so possibly worth checking out. my favorite are the mexican hot chocolate ones, and i'm going to try soon making the chai latte ones... good luck on your venture!
